The Port Harcourt Division of the Court of Appeal is yet to give its ruling on a motion filed by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus.
Secondus had through his direction, Payo Oyetubo, encouraged the court to suspend the October 30 and October 31 national convention of the party and announce him the ideal individual to manage the activity.
The court, subsequent to hearing entries by parties, fixed Thursday, October 28 to hear and lead on the movement for an Interim Injunction brought by Secondus against the PDP and others.
At the point when the matter came up, yesterday, six different individuals from the PDP drew the consideration of the court to their application for joinder, which was not gone against by counsel to Secondus and was therefore conceded by the three-man board of the Court of Appeal
Nonetheless, the litigants’ direction, incorporating the people who participated in the suit went against to the movement for an Interim Injunction by Secondus’ counsel trying to stop the PDP’s impending public show, requested chance to respond to the process.
The three-man appeal panel led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani, after listening to the argument from the parties, ordered counsel to the plaintiff to serve the process on the defendant’s counsel within 24 hours.
Tsammani also urged the respondents’ counsels to respond within 24 hours and adjourned till October 28.
MEANWHILE, the Edo State chapter of the PDP has said the forthcoming national convention will not only rebuild the party but promises to produce a new crop of leaders that will rescue the country from the ineptitude of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Edo State Publicity Secretary of the party, Chris Nehikhare, revealed this to newsmen at a question and answer session in Benin City in front of groundwork for the convention.
Nehikhare guaranteed that the party is ready for the activity, communicating positive thinking that the state’s assignment is prepared and will be essential for the epoch-making event.
He said the PDP is an exceptionally focused and strong party, which would choose new leaders for pilot its undertakings as the 2023 general political race moves close.
Nehikhare noticed that one of the disappointments of the decision APC is the frailty assaulting all international zones in the country.
He said the PDP is committed to ensuring sustainable development and peaceful coexistence when it takes over power.
