President Muhammadu Buhari and the Northern Governors’ Forum have sent warm greetings to elder statesman, Malam Mamman Daura, on his 82nd birthday anniversary.

In a statement yesterday in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity Mallam Garba Shehu, the President described Daura, who is also his uncle, as a gentleman who is widely respected.  “May you be blessed with good health and happiness and continue to serve the nation. Stay well and do the maximum for the country. God bless you with long and healthy life,” the President said.

Chairman of Northern Governors’ Forum and Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong described Daura as a statesman who has dedicated his life to the service of Nigeria and the growth of the region over the years during his professional career and after retirement.

In a statement by his spokesman, Dr. Makut Simon Macham, the governor said Nigeria and the North  have benefitted enormously from his versatility and entrepreneurship, which saw him venturing into the textile and banking industries at various times as well as playing various roles in other sectors.
