Following on going rift between the two partners in the Eastern Palm University Project, Ogboko, the Rochas Foundation and the Imo State government, the management team of the university has directed the executive council of the institution to suspend the current academic session and all academic activities in the institution till further notice, pending the outcome of the ongoing legal tussle over its ownership.

Professor Tola Badejo, the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, in a statement made available to newsmen explained that the action became inevitable following recent and incessant harassment by the Imo State government and its total disregard for the court judgement of the state High court on the same matter.

Badejo, a professor of Zoology alleged that the antics and actions by the state had disrupted the academic activities in the institution and had stirred an air of panic and discomfort in a place designed to be for the young bright minds within its walls.

According to him, the 309 students of the university, out of whom 206 are at the Rochas Foundation scholarship would be affected by the unforeseen development.
