House of Representatives Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, said leaders must make sacrifices to get the country out of the woods.

He spoke in Sokoto when he visited Governor Aliyu Wamakko to commiserate with him on the fire outbreak at the Central Market.

The Speaker also visited Sultan Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar who lost his brother, Abdulkadir Abubakar Jeli, a former commissioner.

Gbajabiamila said many countries had passed through turbulent moments and emerged stronger through the commitment of leaders and citizens.

He said: “We need to collectively strengthen efforts at rebuilding hope for the advancement of the country in the spirit of unity.”

He described Wamakko as a leader from whose knowledge and experience many Nigerians would continue to tap, adding: “I have high regard for him in many respects.”

He said the governor had demonstrated commitment towards developing Sokoto.

Wamakko thanked the Speaker for his show of love and brotherhood to Sokoto and its people, especially the victims of the fire disaster.
