ADO-EKITI – United States of America-based pro-democracy activist, Chief Segun Ajibulu, has urged the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to heed the clarion call by the well-meaning Nigerians and run for the 2023 Presidency.
Ajibulu, who is the leader of a group known as the South-West Professionals, disclosed that Nigerians, home and abroad, are only waiting for the former governor of Lagos State to make his intention known to the public before they swing into action.
Speaking with DAILY INDEPENDENT, Ajibulu admonished those allegedly contemplating working against Tinubu’s Presidential ambition in the SouthWest to perish the thought or have a rethink.
The Ekiti-born APC chieftain, therefore, called on stakeholders in the South-West politics and beyond to embrace the Tinubu project for 2023.
“We are all waiting for Tinubu to declare his ambition and people will see the kind of support it will receive. Whoever wants to oppose Tinubu now may be living in the past. I don’t understand the problem with our people in the South-West, some of us are always determined to work against one of our own for no just course.
“But let me say that the more they tried to pull him down, the more support and popularity he enjoys. Recent happenings have really shown the political worth and acceptability of Tinubu in Nigeria,” Ajibulu said.
He disclosed that Tinubu had paid his dues in the political circle, adding that this is time to appreciate his numerous contributions and sacrifices for democracy in Nigeria.
Said he, “Let me state here that the Tinubu Presidential Campaign will be like a tsunami. Those of us in the diaspora are fully prepared, we just waiting for the man to declare his ambition. People will be shocked by the level of support and acceptability Tinubu’s presidential ambition will enjoy.
“My advice to those trying to play hanky-panky on Tinubu in the South-West is that they should perish the thought. Tinubu’s project is a kind of movement. And anybody who attempts to stand in the way of moving train shall be crushed.
“Tinubu needs no introduction in Nigeria. We are all living witnesses to the way and manner he redefined politics and governance in Lagos and turned the place into a mini-Nigeria where anybody can realise his or her potential and ambition regardless of state or ethnic affiliation,” he added.
Ajibulu maintained that Tinubu had his competence and capacity to lead the country through the way he transformed the economy and stabilise the polity of Lagos State.
