PTF Members, Journalists Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Chairman, Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, yesterday led members of the PTF to receive their first doses of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as a further demonstration of its safety and efficacy.

President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had on Saturday received their doses of the vaccine.

The vaccine shots were also yesterday administered on the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire; the Minister of Environment, Muhammad Mahmood; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffery Onyema and the World Health Organisation Representative in Nigeria,Walter Mulombo.

Executive Director, National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Faisal Shuaib; Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu; among others also got their jabs.

Four journalists considered part of the critical frontliners in the fight against the virus also received the vaccine in a representative manner.

They were Friday Okoregbe, Channels Television; Hassan Umar Faruk, Liberty Television; Nancy Oyediya Urum, Africa Independent Television and Rahila Lassa, Voice of Nigeria.

The vaccination exercise was led by the supervising nurse, Obuba Horsefall, assisted by Adaga Lucy and Obodia Ogonna, who did the e-registration and filling out of their vaccination cards before those vaccinated were presented with the vaccination card.
