Two persons, suspected to be students of the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, have been killed in a cult clash in the Oko community, Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State on Saturday.
The victims were said to have been gunned down during a reprisal by members of a cult.
The development raised tension in the community despite the heavy presence of security agents in the area.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He said, “We are aware of the incident. Efforts are ongoing to arrest the perpetrators. The motorcycle used for the operation has been recovered.
“The Divisional Police Officer in charge of the area confirmed the death of two persons.”
Asked whether the deceased were students of the polytechnic, Mohammed stated, “We have yet to confirm that.”
