Baby Factory Busted In Anambra, Five Pregnant Girls Rescued

After security personnel raided a baby factory in Umunya, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State, five pregnant girls were saved.

The South-Eastern state's security agencies and the Anambra State Ministry of Health worked together to carry out the rescue operations.
The baby factory was found to be a base for child trafficking even though it was operating as a hospital, according to information provided to journalists on Wednesday by Health Commissioner Dr. Afam Obidike.
We discovered that a few unregistered hospitals are in operation throughout the state. We have produced data that will include all of the state's hospitals, enabling people to receive high-quality, effective medical care," he stated.

"Unfortunately, we discovered that they were not registered in our data system when we visited one of the hospitals for an inspection. We arrived here to confirm and observe what was taking place," he remarked.

He added that the government was informed by the seven on-duty nurses that the facility was not registered with the Anambra State Government.

The commissioner stated that the victims ranged in age from 14 to 21 and emphasised the administration of Governor Charles Soludo's resolve to address the threat.

Regretfully, the hospital lacks registration, and there are strong indications that its operations are highly fraudulent. So we just made plans to see the hospital's senior physician and all seven of the nurses.
They kept us confined to the outside. They fled by following the rear and did not open the gate. Out of them, seven or eight fled. The commissioner stated, "We have observed young girls here who are expecting, some of them are as young as 14, 15, 16, and 21 years old.
