Dangote Cement commits to providing complete assistance to Phyna’s sister following the truck accident.
Dangote Cement Plc has committed to providing full support for Ruth Otabor, the sister of Big Brother Naija Season 7 champion Phyna, who was involved in a serious accident with one of the company's cement trucks in Auchi, Edo State.
The unfortunate event took place on Wednesday, merely six days after Ms. Otabor graduated from Auchi Polytechnic.
As per an eyewitness account shared by Phyna, the heavy truck ran over her sister's leg until a bystander intervened, managing to chase it down and halt its progress.
It is still uncertain whether Ms. Otabor was inside a vehicle or standing on the roadside at the time of the accident.
The reality TV star raised concerns on Instagram, voicing her anger regarding the management of the situation.
Ms. Otabor sustained severe injuries, resulting in the amputation of her leg. Witnesses reported that the truck driver attempted to escape but was subsequently caught.
In a statement issued on Thursday through its official X account, the Dangote Group acknowledged the incident and confirmed that senior officials from Dangote Cement Plc, along with the company's insurers, had visited the victim and her family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
