
Prof. Chris Piwuna is chosen as the new national president of ASUU.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has elected Prof. Chris Piwuna, a consultant psychiatrist at the University of Jos Teaching Hospital and the Dean of Students Affairs at the University of Jos, as its new national president.
He replaces Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike's Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, a professor of soil science.
The 23rd National Delegates Congress of ASUU, which took place on Sunday in Benin City, Edo State, validated Piwuna's election. He triumphed over Prof. Adamu Babayo of Bauchi's Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University.
ASUU will be run by the incoming president for the ensuing four years.
