Again, Nnadozie wins keeper’s award in France
In the French women's top division, Chiamaka Nnadozie became the first African to win the National Union of Professional Footballers award for best goalie.
Nnadozie received recognition for her outstanding performances for Paris FC during the 2023–2024 campaign.
The Nigerian international won the individual title by defeating a formidable competition that includes Christiane Endler of Olympic Lyon, Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of PSG, Chloe N'Gazi of FC Fleury, and Kinga Szemik of Stade de Reims.
The 23-year-old also won last month's French D1 Arkema women's league custodian of the year award.
Nnadozie's exploits in saving penalties have solidified her place among the world's top goalkeepers.
This season, she has the most penalty saves of any goalie in Europe—seven.
With her move to France in 2020, the 23-year-old has made a name for herself as one of Europe's top goalkeepers.
Among elite goalkeepers in the men's and women's top European leagues since the beginning of the 2023–24 season, she leads the field in penalty save percentage and has made the most saves from her position.
In the league, Nnadozie has made two saves from spot kicks, and during her team's incredible run in the Women's Champions League, she has made five.
