Bobrisky jets out of Nigeria amid legal troubles

A few days after being freed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, controversial crossdresser Idris Okuneye, better known by his stage name Bobrisky, reportedly took a plane out of Nigeria.

In a series of videos posted on his Instagram story on Monday morning, Bobrisky revealed that he was travelling in first class, but he did not specify where he was going.

"See you in a while, Nigeria. This girl spent more than 30 million dollars on three first-class tickets. He boasted, "Raise the bar for this girl."

He made the amusing comment, "That passport disfigured my picture," in reference to the distortion of his passport pictures.

Bobrisky's dismissal follows a sequence of events that transpired last week.

At Murtala Muhammed International Airport, the troubled transvestite was stopped and taken off a KLM flight headed for Amsterdam on Thursday evening as she tried to board a route to London.

He claimed to have been hurt during the encounter and then warned his social media followers.

After the fight, he was brought to the EFCC's Abuja headquarters, where he was allegedly questioned about allegations that he had paid N15 million to authorities to get money laundering charges against him dropped.

After he allegedly denied bribing the EFCC in his confessional testimony at the commission's headquarters, he was later freed on bail on Saturday.

In April 2024, Bobrisky was given a six-month prison sentence for abusing drugs, which marked the beginning of his legal issues.

Despite being imprisoned at first Kirikiri Prison, reports emerged that he spent only three weeks in confinement before being discreetly relocated to an undisclosed private location.

The situation escalated further in September when a social media influencer, Martins Otse, known as VeryDarkMan, released an audio recording allegedly featuring Bobrisky discussing the bribery of EFCC officials to drop money laundering charges against him.
