DSS releases Ajaero’s seized passport
The Nigeria Labour Congress's beleaguered national president's passport has been made available by the Department of State Services.
Abubakar Marshall of the Falana chambers made the passport release possible on Tuesday.
Remember that on Monday night, after Ajaaero was released, the DSS confiscated his passport?
"Ajaero's passport was released today through my colleague, Abubakar Marshall," Femi Falana stated in an interview with our correspondent, Counsel to the NLC. It is now in his possession.
Ajaero was detained by security personnel on Monday while travelling to the UK for Union business. He was interrogated for more than fifteen hours.
The NLC had issued a midnight ultimatum to the government in support of its beleaguered boss.
But before the deadline passed, the DSS gave in to pressure, and Ajaero was freed.
Details to follow.
