GOtv Boxing: ‘Spirit’ bullies ‘War’ ahead WABU title clash
When they square off on GOtv Boxing Night 31 May 1, light welterweight boxer Adeyemi "Spirit" Adekanla is adamant that he will unseat current champion Segun "War" Adeyemi for the West African Boxing Union championship.
The boxing match at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos' Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall has seven bouts, including the 10-round title battle.
"Spirit" stated that he was training to win the WABU title in order to maintain his undefeated record.
"I'm putting a lot of effort into my fight preparation. "War" is over; it's my turn to hold the WABU crown. He declared, "I will maintain my record of never losing a bout on May 1st.
Throughout their professional careers, both boxers have never lost. Spirit has a record of 12 victories with 4 knockouts, whereas War has an 11-fight record of 10 victories, 1 draw, and 7 knockouts.
The other fights include a national welterweight challenge between Raheem "Baddo" Animashaun and Samuel "Apata Roro" Moses; a light welterweight challenge between Hammed "Ese" Ganiyu and Yusuf Ogunbumi; a super featherweight challenge between Sikiru "Omo Iya Eleja" Shogbesan and Arabambi "Power" Ojo; a super welterweight challenge between Afikun Gbenga and Adewale Oladeji; a national lightweight challenge between Emmanuel Abimbola and Azeez Ayobami; and a national flyweight champion match between Sifon "Best" Iwatt and Sikiru Ogunyaju.
