Imo lady stabs lover to death over Internet fraud proceeds

Oluchi Nzemechi, 27, of Uzoagba in the state's Ikeduru Local Government Area, has been taken into custody by Imo State Police Command officers for fatally stabbing her lover, Kelechi Nzemechi.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to the crime, according to the police, saying that her 31-year-old partner had tricked her into engaging in computer fraud, or "yahoo yahoo."

She clarified that on Sunday, she got into a furious disagreement with the dead because he did not pay her a share of the purported 250 million Rupiah they had taken from an Indonesian victim through fraud.
Nzemechi said she stabbed him in the upper torso during the dispute with a kitchen knife.
The suspect told journalists as she was being paraded by the police, "I quickly wrote on a piece of paper, 'you think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and your child including your family, and I placed it on his lifeless body and ran away from the house,'" in an attempt to hide her criminal acts.

The suspect added that she has a child for the victim and has lived with him since 2019.

ASP Henry Okoye, the command's public relations officer, stated that the suspect would be arraigned in court after the conclusion of the investigation.
"More efforts are being made to locate the purported 250 million Indonesian Rupiah so that the owner may potentially receive it back." The State Criminal Investigation Department is currently looking into the suspect, and he will undoubtedly be charged in court, the speaker continued.
