Meta expands AI services to Nigeria, 11 others
The corporation Meta, which created Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook, has extended its artificial intelligence (AI) service, known as "Meta AI," to 12 nations outside of the US.
Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Australia, Canada, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and other nations are among them.
With the current English rollout, the goal is to strengthen user relationships while providing fresh expressive, creative, and productivity capabilities inside these well-known applications.
In a blog post published on Thursday, Meta stated that since its first introduction at the Connect event of the previous year, Meta AI has developed into a versatile tool that easily fits into users' everyday life.
With Meta Llama 3 technology at its core, Meta AI empowers users to accomplish tasks, acquire knowledge, foster creativity, and forge connections with ease.
Part of the statement read, “We’re rolling out Meta AI in English in more than a dozen countries outside of the US. Now, people will have access to Meta AI in Australia, Canada, Ghana, Jamaica, Malawi, New Zealand, Nigeria, Pakistan, Singapore, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe—and we’re just getting started.
“Thanks to our latest advances with Meta Llama 3, Meta AI is smarter, faster and more fun than ever before,” the company stated.
According to Meta, its latest AI is now the most sophisticated AI assistant that is available in more countries across all of our apps, and it can be used for free.
With the Meta AI integrated into feeds, conversations, searches, and other areas of our apps, users can complete tasks and obtain up-to-date information without ever leaving the app.
"We are excited to share our next-generation assistant with even more people and make it work for you by providing real-time information through our seamless search integration in the apps you know and love," said Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Meta, in a statement about the company's English language expansion.
With the release of our brand-new, cutting-edge Llama 3 AI model, which we're opening-sourcing, we're improving Meta AI. Additionally, we developed certain special creativity tools, such as the capacity to animate images.
"Meta AI can produce images of such high quality so quickly that it can make and update them while you type. Additionally, a playback video of your creating process will be produced.
The introduction of AI has been revolutionary, with several products being released by major corporations such as Microsoft, Google, and Meta.
Major worries about artificial intelligence (AI) have been voiced by experts, though. These include issues with privacy, bias and discrimination, lack of transparency, moral quandaries, security risks, power concentration, and long-term dangers related to the development of artificial general intelligence that outperforms human intelligence.
