Nigerians are suffering, address economic pains – Musician K1 tells Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu was informed by Fuji maestro Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, better known by his stage name K1 De Ultimate, that Nigerians are suffering and are dissatisfied with his government as a result of the country's current economic woes.

This was stated by K1 in a video clip from a recent live performance that turned up on Thursday.
Dami Ayinde, his daughter, spoke out against the current economic state on Wednesday before K1, claiming that it fell short of what the All Progressives Congress had promised.

The young attorney claimed on her Instagram stories that because people are suffering, the APC is not living up to the promises it made to Nigerians.
In the meantime, the Fuji legend—who is well-known for being a devoted supporter of the President—spoke to the President in Yoruba, pleading with him to find answers to the numerous problems that the general public faces.

After former President Muhammadu Buhari stepped down on May 29, 2023, to usher in a new administration, the nation's economic woes increased dramatically.

As he called for the termination of the funding because it benefited neighbouring countries, Tinubu announced on the day of the inauguration that his administration would no longer subsidise fuel.

Due to his choice, the Premium Motor Spirit's price increased from N185 to more than N600.

In line with his administration's financial sector reforms, the Central Bank of Nigeria floated the naira, causing it to fall steadily against the US dollar and move towards interest rates set by the market.

The naira's value in relation to the dollar has fluctuated as a result of this action, selling for anywhere between N1,200 and N1,500.

Naira floating and the elimination of subsidies, two policies that have a major impact on the expansion of the economy, are currently immobilising the country and pushing an increasing number of Nigerians into poverty.

Speaking truth to power, K1 implored the President, saying, "Nigerians are crying." to find a quick fix to the problems before the opposition ride on that to criticise his administration. "I beg you to find a way to alleviate the suffering of the masses. The people are weeping and sobbing. We're suffering because there isn't enough power available. How did things come to be as they are? K1 crooned in the video, "I beg you to solve these issues.

"Pay attention to the grievances expressed by the general public and take them seriously.

"We Nigerians are upset, even though we know you are a benefactor. The Nigerian people are furious.

"This nation's traders are not content. K1 continued, "Look at what the dollar has become—a reference to the exchange rate."

Additionally, he questioned why kidnapping cases have been rising lately and urged the President to address the problem promptly.
K1 also appealed to Nigerians to persevere and exercise more patience with Tinubu, assuring them that this government will resolve all the challenges facing the country.

He, however, asked those who are profiting from the suffering of the masses to bury their heads in shame.

K1 has in the past sung the President’s praises in some of his records and was on his campaign trail in the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.
