No recent Lassa fever outbreak in Kaduna, says official
According to the Kaduna State Primary Health Development Agency, there haven't been any Lassa fever cases in the state in a few weeks.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria on Wednesday in Kaduna, the state's director of public health, Ibrahim Hamza-Ikara, stated that there are no active cases of Lassa fever.
He disclosed that every suspicious case has been released from the medical facilities. "All eight of the remaining patients have been discharged, and we have not recorded any Lassa fever cases for the past few weeks," the statement continued.
According to Hamza-Ikara, the state will continue to educate the populace on how to improve their hygiene habits.
Recall that on February 23, three people were admitted to the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna, while four Lassa fever deaths were reported by the state, according to NAN.
Those suspected of being infected were identified and kept under strict observation.
He advised the locals to practise good food and environmental cleanliness and to notify the closest medical facility of any suspected Lassa fever cases right away so that they might receive quick treatment.
One kind of viral hemorrhagic fever, or uncontrollably bleeding fever, is Lassa fever.
The majority of Lassa fever sufferers only have moderate symptoms like fever, headaches, and exhaustion.
