One died, five injured in Lagos-Ibadan expressway crash
A single accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway on Tuesday resulted in one person being declared dead and five others being injured to varying degrees.
This was confirmed on Tuesday by Florence Okpe, a spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps' Ogun State Command.
Okpe reports that 23 people were involved in the collision that happened near the Fidiwo axis of the motorway.
"23 people involved, all male, five injured, and one killed," she stated. It was a truck-related single collision.
Okpe advised drivers to drive cautiously on the motorway, even though he blamed speeding and tyre burst for the accident.
"Speeding and tyre burst were the crash's causes.
It is recommended that drivers exercise caution at all times on the expressway so as to prevent needless loss of lives,” Okpe said.
