‘No gree for anybody’ slogan can cause crisis, police warn Nigerians
The popular adage, "no go gree for anybody," is strongly disapproved of by the Nigerian Police Force, which is being used by citizens and youths all over the nation. The slang phrase "No Gree for Anybody" has already become well-known, according to report.
Many people think the slang refers to holding fast to one's convictions and resisting the pull of outside influences.
But the police, through Olumuyiwa Adejobi, their spokesperson, threatened to crack down on anyone caught using the slang.
Adejobi disclosed at a press conference on Wednesday that the police had gotten information indicating the slogan might spark a revolution in the nation.
"Let me say that the new slogan for our young people in 2023 and 2024 is 'no go gree for anybody.'"
Our intelligence has informed us that this slogan is originating from a revolutionary sector that could potentially cause issues throughout the entire nation.
"'No go greed for anybody' is perceived as a casual conversation, but in the security industry and community, we view it as a highly perilous catchphrase that has the potential to ignite a crisis."
The slang has been featured in a number of memes and posts that have been making the rounds on social media.
One meme shows a tricycle being passed by a big car, signifying that the right of way is not respected.
The slang has already been emblazoned on clothing and other objects and has its own logo.
