Police besiege PDP headquarters ahead of NEC meeting
The Peoples Democratic Party's national headquarters in Abuja, Wadata Plaza, is under increased protection since armed police officers were stationed there in advance of the party's important National Executive Committee meeting today.
According to a party official who spoke to Channels Television under condition of anonymity, the police were dispatched to stop the planned Expanded Caucus Meeting.
Nonetheless, a few party employees were permitted to enter the secretariat's grounds without encountering any police opposition.
The road that leads to Wadata Plaza, Dalaba Street, was seen to be blocked up by police officers.
More to come.
