105 diapers in six days: Nigerians donate over N4.2m to quadruplets family

The family of Sodiq Olayode, whose wife Abiodun recently gave birth to a pair of quadruplets, has received almost N4.2 million in contributions from Nigerians.

On Wednesday, Olayode's coworker James, who used by the handle #jamysax on X.com, tweeted the information.

On Tuesday, James wrote on X.com, saying, "Fun fact: My colleague who already had two kids said he should do it and add one more."

"Can you guess how many children his wife had? In one go, four (quadruplets). The dude was insane. Every day, Na na so regret their condition.
He also uploaded a screenshot of what appeared to be one of Olayode's WhatsApp posts regarding the quantity of nappies used in a brief amount of time.

"105 pieces of nappies in 6 days," the message said Haaa, mo gbe mo daran. E shanu mi eyin quadruplet yi.”
Internet users took notice of James' article on X.com, with some bringing up the difficulties of parenting small children.

By Wednesday, James announced that, in response to enquiries, he had been given permission by the couple to provide Olayode's bank account information and a photo of the parents and kids.
"I reached out to them yesterday for their permission to post their picture, the children's picture, and his account details," the man wrote.

Additionally, please get in touch with me if you would want to send them nappies or anything else. I'll figure out how to deliver it to them. Appropriate responsibility would be taken.

James provided more information, saying that as of 9.42 a.m., Olayode had collected N1,598,750 and some individuals had offered to give him baby items and diapers.

Sharing hourly updates alongside a screenshot, James revealed that, as of 10:03 a.m., Olayode had received N2,811,277.
"They have received N4,226,769. As of 11:03 am." Both the husband and wife are in shock. They can't express themselves. God is good," he continued.

On July 7, the Lagos State Government announced that, as part of the State Social Health Insurance Plan, also referred to as "Ilera Eko," the state Health Management Agency has recorded the first-ever quadruplets from Gbagada General Hospital.
It was reported that Saka and Abiodun Olayode, who had already been blessed with a child, gave birth to the quadruplets.

"LASHMA would ensure that the babies were enrolled in the scheme so that they could enjoy unhindered medical care," added Dr. Emmanuella Zamba, the organization's permanent secretary.

Sodiq said they were fortunate to have a daughter in a Facebook interview with Feelrightnewstv before the arrival of the quadruplets (two boys and two girls).

He added that the quadruplets were born at eight months because the pregnancy was becoming “life-threatening.”

The couple also sought the assistance of the government to raise the children.
