Abia to explore opportunities across key sectors with investment summit
The Abia State Government has revealed its intention to utilize the upcoming Abia–Turkiye Investment Summit and Product Exhibition to draw in investors and unlock opportunities in vital sectors such as manufacturing, agriculture, textiles, energy, and infrastructure.
The event, titled "Bridging Continents, Unlocking Prosperity," is set to take place from November 25 to 27, 2025, at the International Conference Centre in Umuahia.
During a media briefing in Lagos, Jerome Greene-Anakwe, Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotion and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), stated that the summit would serve as a platform for both international and local investors to discover Abia’s expanding economic potential.
He mentioned that the initiative seeks to enhance bilateral relations between Turkey, Abia State, and Nigeria as a whole, while establishing the state as a preferred investment destination in West Africa.
"Our goal is to present products and services to the vibrant African market and create opportunities for Business-to-Business (B2B) meetings that will link investors, exporters, and local businesses," Greene-Anakwe remarked.
He also revealed that the state government has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VEGA Growing Global Enterprise to guarantee the successful hosting of the summit, noting that Abia is collaborating closely with the Chambers of Commerce in Aba, Umuahia, Lagos, Kano, and Abuja.
Greene-Anakwe reiterated Governor Alex Otti’s dedication to fostering a more favorable investment environment and promoting inclusive economic growth through strategic partnerships.
Additionally, Dr. Salome Obiukwu, Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, expressed that Abia is "fully prepared to welcome the world," highlighting that comprehensive security and logistics arrangements have been finalized to ensure the safety and comfort of participants throughout the summit.
