Abuja church general overseer evicts estranged wife, six children
Stanley Ogbonna, a well-known pastor, is said to have ejected his six children and divorced wife, Chioma, from their Abuja home.
According to rumours, Ogbonna, a general overseer of the God's Spring Assembly, popularly known as Glass Church, in Kubwa, Abuja, had an uncomfortable connection with his spouse that ended in divorce.
He was charged with lying to the court and said that he had sold his holdings to keep his beleaguered wife from inheriting any of his fortune.
"See him, God will help me," she exclaimed. This individual is a pastor. Examine him. Stanley Ogbonna, the pastor, is this person. I was kicked out of the house along with the kids by him after he phoned the police.
"Look at me, observe my properties, all of them outside without warning. This afternoon, when we were inside the house, he simply showed up with the police and threw away my belongings. He has been sleeping around and packing his belongings out of the house for years.
He has come to shame me now after I worked with him for eighteen and nineteen years. Observe the actions of the General Overseer of God's Wing Assembly, Kubwa, Glass Church. I am his wife, and I worked beside him for nineteen years.
After giving birth to six children, I have suffered for years; the world must intervene and bring me justice. Four years old is his last child.
"Observe my properties and me from the outside. He believes I have no one to speak for. For me, Jehovah will speak," Chioma continued.
Attempts to speak with the pastor and the church about the wife's accusation were unsuccessful. As of the time this report was filed, the church's inquiry phone was inaccessible and the submitted mail had not received a response.
In honour of Ogbonna's birthday on April 18, the church hosted a programme called "Happy Birthday in Perfect Grace."
