Again, Bandits Attack Kajuru Village, Kidnap 87, As CDS Arrives Kaduna

According to reports, bandits that attacked the Kajuru station community in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, kidnapped at least 87 people.

The community's stores and homes were allegedly looted by the bandits.

Sunday night's attack happened just one day after bandits abducted fourteen people from the Dogon Noma community in Kajuru Local Government.

While Kajuru Local Government Area Chairman Ibrahim Gajere told our correspondent that bandits had raided Kajuru station community on Sunday night at around 9:00 p.m. and taken many residents, Kaduna State police authorities have not yet confirmed the most recent attack.

He bemoaned the fact that many locals were living in fear and panic as a result of the ongoing attacks on Kajuru.

The Kaduna Central Senatorial District's Kajuru and Chikun Local Government Areas have recently seen a surge in attacks, one of which involved the kidnapping of 287 students from the Kuriga community in Chikun.

On Monday, in response to a surge in abduction cases, Governor Uba Sani and Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa met at the state government house.

Speaking at the meeting, which was also attended by Kuriga community representatives, General Musa gave the assurance that the students who had been abducted and those who had recently been taken hostage by bandits at Kajuru would soon be rescued.

He claims that in an effort to free the hostages, the military and other security services are working nonstop.

He promised that everyone responsible for the kidnappings and attacks in Kaduna and other North West zone states would be captured very soon.

"We are here to demonstrate our support for this community and let you know that whatever you are going through, we are too. We can tell you that God Almighty is on our side and that this is all just temporary. And the reason for the issue stems from those who oppose the development of this nation in order for development to occur. He declared, "We are working nonstop to ensure that everyone who has been abducted is protected and freed as soon as possible.

While speaking earlier, Governor Sani said the state was getting support from both the army and police.

“We will ensure that we beef up security in Kuriga community. We are getting a lot of support from security agencies, from both police and army,” Governor Sani said during the meeting.
