CAF mourns as Ugandan match official collapses, dies during game

The unexpected passing of Peter Kabugo, a match official for the Uganda Premier League, has caused the Confederation of African Football to express its profound sorrow.

Kabugo tragically died after falling during a football league game at Wankulukuku Stadium in Uganda, according to a statement released on Sunday via X.

CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe sent his sympathies to the Federation of Ugandan Football (FUFA) and its president, Moses Magogo, as well as to Peter Kabugo's family.

On behalf of CAF, Motsepe expressed his sorrow for Kabugo's premature death.

The statement read, "The Federation of Ugandan Football ('FUFA'), its president Moses Magogo, the Ugandan people, and the family of Peter Kabugo receive the deepest condolences from CAF President Dr. Motsepe."

Motsepe expressed his hope for harmony.
