Defence minister backs Tinubu’s economic reforms

According to Dr. Bello Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, President Bola Tinubu's reforms and sound economic policies are producing notable benefits.

The Ministry of Defense's Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr. Henshaw Ogubike, made this announcement in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.

Matawalle claimed that the country's economy was already improving as a result of these initiatives, which included the recent tax cuts and a number of significant accomplishments in a number of different industries.

He went on to say that all Nigerians would eventually gain from this economic recovery.

As a result, he asked people who have criticised Tinubu's administration, especially those from Northern Nigeria, to be positive in their accounts.

"I encourage critics to be positive in their narratives in light of the continuous criticism, especially from some Northern Nigerian quarters.

"I also urge people to reject divisive narratives and to continue to stand firmly in support of the President.

"It is imperative that Nigerians support Mr. President, who is assiduously striving to revitalise our economy through a number of successful policies, programs, and reforms," he stated.

Highlighting the new tax measures, the minister said they were essential to the nation's economic recovery.

He clarified that the goal of these measures was to establish a more equitable tax structure that would improve government income collection while relieving the financial strain on small firms and regular citizens.

"By expanding the tax base and ensuring that everyone pays their fair share, President Tinubu is laying the groundwork for sustainable economic growth.

"These reforms will stimulate investment and job creation across various sectors, in addition to increasing government revenues," Matawalle explained.

He added that the goal of the tax reforms is to streamline the tax administration procedure so that both individuals and corporations may comply more easily.

He claims that this will create an atmosphere that is more conducive to business, promoting innovation and entrepreneurship, both of which are critical for advancing the economy.

Matawalle went on to highlight further noteworthy accomplishments in a variety of fields, such as advancements in national security.
He highlighted that by providing the Nigerian military with cutting-edge technology and equipment, the current administration had significantly improved its capabilities.

He went on to say that the nation's military men have always gotten their pay and benefits on time, which has greatly improved their morale.

"We are seeing a renewed commitment to the safety and well-being of all Nigerians under President Tinubu's leadership, and I encourage everyone to recognise the positive changes taking place," the minister stated.
