Dele-Bashiru Eagles invitation excites fan
The invitation of Hatayaspor midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to the national team ahead of the international friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique has been welcomed by some fans.
The Nigeria Football Federation on Monday released the list of invited players submitted by Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, with the 22-year-old the only new face in the squad.
Nigeria take on the Green Falcons of Saudi Arabia in Portimão, Portugal on Friday, October 13 before a clash with Mozambique in the same city three days later.
The 22-year-old has been in fine form for his Turkish side, scoring four goals and registering two assists in seven matches.
His invitation has excited fans, who believe he could be the missing factor in the Eagles midfield.
Moolah wrote on X, “Great to see Fisayo Dele-Bashiru make the list. He could be the tonic we need in that midfield. Sad for Gift Orban, he is yet to fully regain form after his last injury. Great list and kudos to NFF for the friendlies.”
Martins also said, “Very good, the invitation of Fisayo Bashiru, he is a very good, attacking, creative midfielder, a goal-scoring midfielder.
“Very good midfielder, nice addition, the coach is really getting ready for AFCON, look into goalkeeping department too.”
Emeka Chi wrote, “Since Aribo dropped form, Alex Iwobi has been the only creative player and I believe the addition of Fisayo will bring more quality to the team. This is the best invitation in a very long time.”
Dele-Bashiru will team up with the Eagles next week as the players are all expected to arrive in Faro, Portugal on Tuesday, October 10.
