I’m receiving death threats, never intended to disrespect Davido’s wife – American influencer

On Thursday, Gorgeous Doll, an American influencer, addressed the resurfaced video controversy involving Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, also known as Davido, and his wife, Chef Chi, aka Chioma Rowland.

She posted a picture of herself and Davido online in April, where it looked as though Davido was giving her a hug.
Following the publication of the picture, a video showing Davido kneeling and pleading—presumably for her—was also published.

The image and video sparked debates over Davido and his wife Chef Chi's marriage.
Gorgeous Doll said that the video was posted without her permission, which sparked a new internet battle that has led to Davido and Chef Chi being teased and mocked.

Gorgeous Doll claims that as a result, she has received a flurry of death threats.

"As everyone is aware, there is a little rat beef situation going on with this video that someone leaked in my camp, or who was in my camp, as you would say, and I'm receiving death threats every day."
In a video posted to the internet on Thursday, Gorgeous Doll said, "Nigeria, I love how hard you go for this person, you know, he's a great artist, but death threats are over the top."

Beautiful Doll emphasised her appreciation for women while denying any malice against Davido's wife.

"I genuinely believe that you all need me to come assure you that I didn't mean to offend anyone's wife or family."I stated that there had been a leak of my footage. Although I did not share that video, I accepted responsibility for the picture. That's exactly what the video is; I never intended for it to be public knowledge," the woman claimed.

The influencer disclosed that she had gotten in touch with Chef Chi to apologise and extend an explanation.

"I sent his wife, Chef Chi, a message. I responded to her in full, including the timeline. I politely informed her that I would never belittle her or anything she was going through," Gorgeous Doll said.

Gorgeous Doll showed support for Chef Chi by saying, "As much as I'm dealing with death threats, I know she deals with ten times more what I deal with." Gorgeous Doll acknowledged the scrutiny Chef Chi endures. In the end, I'm a girl for women and a girl's girl, and this is just something that shouldn't keep happening.

In addition, Gorgeous Doll refuted claims that she had made disparaging remarks against Nigerians, saying, "You guys, the first day that this happened, I reached out to her, and I let her know." Ma'am, that's all there is to it. I apologise for what we're going through, but this is what it is. You have my respect.

Thus, let's not worry too much about the death threats. Ultimately, I love Nigeria, and I'm still human enough to see what you guys are saying. I have never made any unfavourable remarks. You people are not roaches, as I claimed. I have never made any disparaging remarks against Nigerians or Africans; that was not me.

Gorgeous Doll said, "Okay, anyone that was a part of this situation when it initially happened, I'm no longer tied to them," distancing herself from her previous partners. There is no longer any friendship or relationship there.
Additionally, the influencer declared that the issue with Davido's camp had been settled, adding, "All right, I've talked to OBO's people, his camp, everything." They are aware of the location of the error. They are aware that I neither posted the video nor intended for it to be posted.

Recall that on Monday, Ayodeji Balogun, better known by his stage name Wizkid, took aim at Davido in a contentious tweet, causing the microblogging platform X.com to catch fire. Wizkid is Davido's teammate and the titan of afrobeat music.

In conversations with his fans, Wizkid called out recording artist and label owner Don Jazzy, who is quite famous, calling him a "influencer." He also made fun of Davido for a recent viral video leak in which he was seen sobbing and pleading with what appeared to be a female acquaintance.
