ICYMI: Tapswap adjourns token allocation date indefinitely

Popular tap-to-earn app Tapswap, which is powered by TONNE Blockchain, has announced that the distribution of tokens to users has been put on hold indefinitely while representatives look for the best ways to compensate tap-to-earn players.

John Robbin, the Head of Communications at Tapswap, made this announcement on an X space on Wednesday.

Since its February 15, 2024 launch, the app, which required users to continuously tap the icon in the centre of the Telegram Tapswap bot screen in order to mine coins, has accumulated over 50 million users. Nigerians have been using the app to tap their phone screens in an attempt to make money.

He emphasises that the procedures cannot be shared prior to the allocation and claims that the token allocation method has not yet been determined.

The launch of the token was rescheduled for July 1. We'll let people know the revised date.

In order to keep the tappers, we will give the community a sizable portion of the tokens. All of you are welcome to join the tapswap community.

For a token airdrop to benefit everyone, it must be win-win. We've begun corresponding with numerous platforms and exchanges," Robbin stated.

The head of app communications added that users abusing the system to farm taps and manipulate the game will be banned, with community members conducting background checks and asking for the patience of true tappers.

He said, "Just open the app and tap on it; that will give you shares," when discussing the mining procedures. The more times you press, the more upgrades you do, the more shares you will have when we finalize the tokens on it.
"You have to tap more to get more tokens than you want."

"We have room exponentially faster than we thought, and then to develop the game plan further, we introduced a paid feature to make their capital, but it was not mandated on the users," the representative said in reference to the now-closed booster option.

The limited x2 donation was instituted in response to the constant stream of new users who needed to be given equitable access to TGE and make a profit.

It was a platform where those who joined more recently could compete with those who joined sooner. While it is currently unavailable, we anticipate using the money we earned from it to improve the game in the future.

“It is all going to our 25 staffers working around the clock to sustain the app. We want to be here for a very long time.”
In addition, he encouraged users to keep downloading the tapping app so they can eventually receive a valuable token.

Recall that Nigerians of all ages have been tapping their phones excessively, with some claiming to be waiting for the tokens to be distributed so they can use the numerous taps they have accumulated to purchase the houses and cars of their choosing.

A Keke driver was seen operating his moving car and carrying passengers while using one hand to tap away on his phone in a widely shared video.

In a different widely shared video, multiple traders in Northern Nigeria were seen forcefully tapping their screens.
