Ikorodu City FC unveil 12 new players

To strengthen the squad for the rest of the league season, Ikorodu City FC, a team in the Nigeria Premier Football League, announced 12 new players on Monday.

The unveiling ceremony took place inside the club secretariat at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

Samuel Bamisebi, the club's director of media and communications, stated that the decision to bring on extra players was a reaction to the team's changing demands.

We must sign new players to finish the 2024–2025 season with both short- and long-term contracts due to sporadic transfers in the mid-season transfer window.

Twelve new players were signed up to play in the league for the rest of the season.

However, he added, "five are from the club's academy, and seven are recently signed players."

Wisdom Ubani, Manaseh Gideon, Oladimeji Dada, Victor Ejukah, Nasiru Suleiman, Pere Anderson, and Sunday Raimi are the new players, according to NAN.

Kammonke Willie, Sheu Agboola, Musa Malik, Joseph George, and Chiemerie Ezeaka are the academy players who are registered.

According to NAN, Ikorodu City FC won the 2024/2025 NPFL Match Day 23 match at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Sunday, defeating Kwara United FC 2-1.

Midfielder Junior Aimufua gave the Afonja Warriors the lead in the second minute, but the Lagos squad rallied from a one-goal deficit to overcome them.

Playing with greater energy, Ikorodu City FC equalised in the seventh minute when Toyeeb Ajeyigbe hammered home a low cross from captain and dependable defender Waliu Ojetoye.

Shola Adelani's incredible near-post header in the 64th minute gave the Ikorodu team the victory they needed to get into a celebratory mood.
