JAMB warns against illegal registration centers, 1,021 register in Jigawa

Candidates registering for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and Direct Entry have been cautioned by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to stay away from unapproved registration centres as doing so may render their registration invalid.

Mukarram Adamu, the Jigawa State Public Relations Officer for JAMB, made the warning public in a statement released Tuesday in the state capital of Dutse.

Out of the 201,867 applicants registered countrywide for the 2025 UTME and DE, 1,021 candidates have registered in Jigawa State thus far, the notification claims.

Adamu disclosed that 12 authorised computer-based testing locations throughout the state are hosting the registration process.

The authorised CBT centres were set up to provide a seamless, open, and trouble-free registration process while also averting instances of fraud and anomalies, the JAMB spokesperson underlined.

According to Adamu, "JAMB has promised candidates that it will take all necessary steps to ensure the registration process is seamless."

He added that as the registration drive goes on, it is anticipated that there would be more candidates than the current 201,867 registered nationally.

Adamu underlined that JAMB is still dedicated to making sure the exercise runs well and asked candidates to report any difficulties or questionable activity during the registration process.

Candidates are highly encouraged to register at only authorised centres. He cautioned that supporting unlawful operators could result in disqualification.

Additionally, JAMB urged applicants to exercise caution and report any malpractices or unauthorized centres to the appropriate authorities.
