JUST IN: One Person Killed, Several Shops Razed As Fire Guts Central Market In Zamfara

One person has died after a fire at Gusau Central Market destroyed multiple stores.
The largest market in the state capital's furniture section saw the fire start at approximately nine o'clock last night.

The shop owner, whose name is not yet known, died while trying to enter his store to put out a fire with force, according to Channels Television, which was reported by Hamza Mohammed, the Commander of the Nigerian Fire Service, New Market office.

State command firefighters have been fighting the fire since 9 p.m. yesterday to stop it from spreading to other stores.

Mohammed stated that an unidentified fire affected multiple stores, but the cause is still unknown.
