Maguire signs new Man United deal until 2027

Manchester United have confirmed that England defender Harry Maguire has signed a new contract, keeping him at Old Trafford until June 2027, with the option for an additional year.

As reported by ESPN on Tuesday, the 33-year-old was due to become a free agent at the end of the season, but has agreed terms to extend his stay.

Maguire, who joined United from Leicester City in a reported £80 million transfer in 2019, has made 266 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals.

He has been a key figure in United’s defense and has helped the team regain form under interim manager Michael Carrick. His performances since January earned him a recall to the England squad for the March internationals.

Regarding the agreement, Maguire stated: "It is the highest privilege to represent Manchester United. I am thrilled to prolong my journey with this remarkable club and to keep playing before our exceptional supporters. The ambition and potential of this team are evident, and I am assured that our finest moments lie ahead."

Jason Wilcox, Manchester United’s director of football, commended Maguire’s leadership and professionalism, noting that he contributes "invaluable experience" to the youthful and ambitious squad.

Maguire’s contract extension guarantees that United retains one of their most seasoned players as they strive to compete for significant trophies in the upcoming seasons.
