Mali beat Nigeria 2-0 in international friendly
On Tuesday night, the Eagles of Mali defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0.
Nigeria lost the match against the Eagles due to a goal in each half of play.
Mali took the lead through an assist from E. Toure in the eighteenth minute, and the runners-up in the just finished African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast were unable to force a tie in the first half.
K. Doumbia's goal from the heart of the box in the 84th minute gave the Malians the victory.
This was the interim coach George Finidi's first defeat since taking over after Jose Peseiro's contract expired.
On Friday, Finidi's first game in charge—a friendly matchup with the Ghanaian Black Stars—ended in victory.
Consequently his side’s 2-1 defeat to Nigeria during the international friendly game, Ghana national team head coach, Otto Addo, says the Black Stars were unlucky against the Super Eagles.
