Mike Bamiloye calls out Christian disunity over support for Trump
The head of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Pastor Mike Bamiloye, has criticised the differences among Christians, particularly in the US, over support for Donald Trump, the US president-elect.
On social media, he voiced his dissatisfaction and questioned why Christians seem to disagree on supporting a leader that, in his opinion, embodies Christian principles.
Bamiloye posted a video of Trump discussing his love for Christ and his desire to follow moral principles on social media on Friday.
Christians who have trouble choosing which party to support were chastised by Bamiloye, whose ministry is well-known for its faith-based movies and teachings.
He maintained that while Trump's party publicly upholds Christian values, the opposition supports policies such as gender transitions, abortion, same-sex marriage, and the modification of children’s gender identities in schools.
“What is confusing in the options?” he asked, suggesting that the choice should be straightforward for believers.
In reaction to Trump's video, he remarked, "I Seriously Love This!" and expressed his surprise at the lack of faith in the previous president's Christian principles.
"I was shocked to learn that some Christians were perplexed by Donald Trump prior to the recent election," he said.
Trump defeated Kamala Harris to win the U.S. presidential election. This unexpected political resurgence is predicted to cause shockwaves around the globe.
Bamiloye pointed out that some American Christians doubt Trump's teachings on faith and morality, thinking that his pro-Christian remarks might be fake or artificial intelligence (AI) created.
