NAFDAC vows seamless port clearance procedures
According to the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, in order to attain industry best practices, port clearance procedures must be smooth and effective.
The Director-General of the agency, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, in a statement by the agency’s media consultant, Mr Olusayo Akintola, reiterated the position of the agency in Lagos.
At the Ports Inspection Data Capture and Risk Management System platform training for Ports Inspection Directorate Priority Clients in 2024, Adeyeye made this statement.
The NAFDAC head stated that, in order to facilitate business, industry operators must be extremely skilled in using the Ports Inspection Data platform created by NAFDAC. Dr. Abimbola Adegboye, the agency's Director of Ports Inspection Directorate, was present to make this point.
She stated that the operation benefited greatly from the stakeholders' and priority clients' training on port clearance procedures using the PIDCARMS platform.
According to Adeyeye, the agency's goal was to give Priority Clients and other important stakeholders critical insights and direction on how to use the optimised PIDCARMS for quick and easy port clearance processes.
According to the DG, the agency's attendance at the training demonstrated its dedication to keeping up with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
She clarified that being a member of the Priority Client Platform was not automatic and that in order to receive the advantages of a Priority client, such as round-the-clock support on the platform, the operator needed to demonstrate a commitment to upholding ethical standards.
Personalised email access on the PIDCARMS Platform to address particular business challenges was one of the additional benefits she highlighted, along with Self-Assessment and Costing options.
“We are confident that you will learn and comprehend the procedures necessary to use PIDCARMS for port clearance procedures, thanks to this session.
With the goal of providing them with the knowledge and abilities needed to operate the system as effectively as possible, the agency has put together a team of experts and provided a thorough agenda."
In addition to approving the issuance of certificates of participation for deserving clients, management has also approved the charge of a token to cover the cost of materials and provide you with a well-earned experience.
“The whole essence of the annual training is to continuously improve stakeholders’ skills in the application of PIDCARMS to increase data on right-first-time records,” she stressed.
It was emphasised in the statement that Adeyeye promoted networking, active engagement, and the sharing of experiences and ideas among attendees.
She emphasised that their opinions, recommendations, and feedback were crucial to the agency's ongoing development and the improvement of its offerings.
It was also stated in the statement that each of the 150 Top Priority clients received a certificate of participation.
At the conclusion of the training session, there was the first award ceremony and plaque presentation.
