Notorious bandit, Baleri arrested in Niger Republic

Kachalla Baleri, a notorious bandit kingpin from Nigeria, has been taken into custody in the Niger Republic.

Baleri, who had previously escaped from captivity, was taken into custody by Operation Faraoutar Bushiya troops from the Niger Republic on Tuesday at Rouga Kowa Gwani in the Guidan Roumdji community.

Colonel Mohamed Niandou, the Chief of Tactical Staff of Operation Faraoutar Bushiya, confirmed the arrest and stated that Baleri's infamous reign came to an end on Tuesday during a meeting with his men to plan attacks in Nigeria and Niger.

During a presentation ceremony for the offenders, the region's governor, CGP Issoufou Mamane, and the republic's prosecutor, Adamou Abdou Adam, praised the professionalism and dedication of the soldiers stationed on the ground.

According to the statement, "They said the arrest represents a significant achievement in the fight against banditry and terrorism in the region," he said.

According to PRNigeria, Baleri, who was born in Shinkafi, Zamfara State, was well-known for terrifying the people in the Niger Republic's Maradi region, Sokoto, and northwest Zamfara.

A few weeks ago, he uploaded a video clip in which he showed bundles of naira notes that appeared to be money collected as ransom from his group's kidnapping activities. He has since been connected to kidnappings and mass killings in the Northwest.
