NSCDC deploys 35,000 personnel for Easter

Ahmed Audi, the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has sent out 35,000 troops throughout the nation to make sure Easter is celebrated without a hitch.

The deployment of officers and men, with a target of at least 35,000 personnel, is to provide watertight security before, during, and after the festivity to protect lives and property, including vital national assets and infrastructure, according to a statement released by the Corps spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, on Thursday.

As per the operational order, the CG assigned agents to various units such as the Anti-Vandal Unit, Special Intelligence Squad, Transport and Mining Marshals, Special Female Squad, Special Force, Special Weapon and Tactics, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Crack Squad, and Rapid Response Squad to guarantee continuous surveillance.
"The CG emphasises that oil installations, railway tracks, power and telecommunications, schools, and recreational facilities should be appropriately protected by monitoring, even though the deployment is intended to achieve maximum security through overt and covert actions.

"The public should also assist by providing timely and helpful information on suspected acts and persons so that a prompt and appropriate response can be made," the statement continued.
