Nwabali relishes clean sheet in Chippa cup win

Super Eagles initial selection In a cup match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Sunday, Chippa United defeated TS Galaxy FC 2-0, and Stanley Nwabali is ecstatic about his team's clean sheet performance.

Greetings The visitors easily defeated the hosts on the road and advanced to the Nedbank Cup's next round thanks to goals from Eva Nga and Roscoe Pietersen in each half.

The 27-year-old expressed his excitement in a message on his Instagram page on Monday. He wasn't named for their PSL 2-0 home victory over Kaizer Chiefs on April 6 at Buffalo City Stadium, East London—clearly not because of form concerns.

"This is where I work! Before a superb team effort, there was a back-to-back Nedbank Cup victory and another clean sheet. Onto the next round! Chilli boys,” Nwabali stated on Instagram.
The last time the former Enyimba goalie played for the Chilli Boys, on 3 April, at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha (previously Port Elizabeth), they defeated the Cape Town Spurs 2-0 in the Premier Soccer League. The player also maintained a perfect record.

Nwabali expressed his pleasure on social media the next day, as has become customary for him since his global success, saying, "It's been persistence, learning from failures, and grace." Great team victory and yet another perfect score. Chilli boys.

The Premier Soccer League match that Nwabali and his teammates will play next is against SuperSport United on 20 April at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium in Pretoria. This match has the potential to be explosive.

After being threatened by angry South African supporters after saving two of Bafana Bafana's five penalties in the semi-final of the continental showcase in Ivory Coast last February, which prevented them from moving on to the 2023 AFCON final, Nwabali is once again living the Chippa United dream.

His global career path embodies diligence, perseverance, hard effort, and patience—like the old saying, "The dog always has its day."

Nwabali was unheard of until former Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro scouted him in advance of the 2023 AFCON, despite playing for Go Round FC, Wikki Tourists, Enyimba, Lobi Stars, and Katsina United during his three-year tenure in the Nigeria Premier Football League.

At the continental football championship, Nwabali made a name for himself right away thanks to his steady, standout performances between the sticks helped the team to a silver, and ending Nigeria’s protracted search for a reliable goalkeeper.
