Okocha advises Osimhen

As rumors about Victor Osimhen's future grow after a record-breaking loan stint at Galatasaray, Nigerian football icon Jay-Jay Okocha has given the forward advice.

The former Fenerbahçe player, who spoke to Turkish television TRT Spor through Haberler, advised Osimhen to think about the emotional and professional fulfillment he has experienced in Turkey and that remaining at Galatasaray would be a smart move, even if it meant sacrificing something personal.

Okocha declared, "It is a terrific place to play and watch football in Turkey."

Sometimes, when making judgments in football, you can have to give up something. Osimhen's season at Galatasaray was fantastic. In the end, he finds happiness there. Why should not he continue to play for the team? I adore Turkey. He also adores it.

Osimhen, who just finished his loan from Napoli, scored his 37th goal of the season on Saturday as Galatasaray defeated İstanbul Başakşehir 2-0, capping an incredible season in which the Turkish powerhouses won both the league and the cup.

Although the player's future is still up in the air, Galatasaray's head coach Okan Buruk lauded his contribution and expressed hope that he would stay with the team.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray fans have taken matters into their own hands, creating a global #staywithus campaign that included a billboard message in Times Square.

Osimhen has not yet made a public statement regarding his future playing location, but according to reports, his agency has received a new contract offer from Galatasaray worth €15 million annually. This represents a €3 million increase over his current salary and would make him the highest-paid player in the club's history.

Okocha remained silent when asked if he knew anything about Osimhen's next whereabouts. "I am not sure," he answered.

"I hope the best for him wherever he chooses to go."

In addition, Okocha, who played for Fenerbahçe from 1996 to 1998, reminisced about his own experience in Turkey, describing it as "a beautiful two years" and praising the local cuisine and supporters. He closed his words with a bow to his old team, assuring fans, “The finest is Fener.”
