September deadline for NIN/SIM linkage sacrosanct, says NIMC

The Federal Government's September 14 deadline for linking the National Identification Number (NIN) with the Subscribers Identity Modules (SIM) remains sacred, as the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) authorities have reminded Nigerians and lawful residents.

The Commission claimed that for the purposes of enrolment, verification and authentication, and data updating, its staff and equipment at the more than 10,000 registration locations around the nation and in the diaspora are operating flawlessly and without a hitch.

In a statement, NIMC's Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Kayode Adegoke, stated that additional services are continuing without interruption in order to fulfil Nigeria's requirements before the NIN-SIM connection deadline.
The Commission wants to reaffirm that all of its more than 10,000 NIN enrolment centres across the country and in the diaspora are open for NIN enrolment. Nigerians and legal residents can visit any of the centres to enrol and be issued the NIN.
"This guarantee is provided in view of the NIN-SIM linkage deadline of September 14, 2024." NIMC also wishes to notify Nigerian citizens and legal residents that any applicant wishing to edit their NIN data may do so via the NIMC Self-Service portal at self-servicemodification.nimc.gov.ng (terms and conditions apply)

Also, NIN holders and applicants can use www.nimc.gov.ng to ask any questions they may have about NIN enrolment locations, NIN data change processes and procedures, NIN verification concerns, and other matters.

The Commission restates its pledge to accept no extortion or unethical behaviour of any kind, and to offer free NIN enrolment! The following email address, nimccustomercare@nimc.gov.ng, can be used to report any issues regarding the extortion of applicants or any other unwholesome practices: 07002255646.

The Commission, according to Adegoke, is dedicated to offering Nigerians and lawful residents top-notch identity management services.
