Soldier questions non-recognition as Tinubu lavishes gifts on Super Eagles

After the Super Eagles finished second in the recently concluded African Cup of Nations, President Bola Tinubu gave the players houses, land plots, and national honours. Adie Paul, a Nigerian soldier, has criticised this decision, pointing out that soldiers serving in the combat zone do not receive similar recognition.

The soldier who claimed to have been shot while serving in the Northeast used his X handle as a platform to vent his annoyance.

When drpenking, an X-user, tweeted, "Even Ahmed Musa wey no kick ball once for AFCON follow collect flat, land, and OON," he responded with a statement stating his position. Good times.
After responding to the post with a photo, the soldier said, "Yet, as a soldier, I stayed in the North East fighting Boko Haram for four years plus. I was shot and I am still carrying the bullet in me to this day, not even a medal from the Army/Nigeria government."

Every member of the Super Eagles team that won an AFCON silver medal received the national honour of Member of the Order of the Niger on Tuesday from Tinubu.
