Tito Jackson, one of the pop group of the Jackson 5, dies at 70.

One of the brothers that comprised the adored musical group the Jackson 5, Tito Jackson, has away. He was seventy.

Jackson belonged to a musical family whose songs have sold hundreds of millions of copies. He was the third of nine children, including superstars Michael and Janet.

"We announce with heavy hearts that our father, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Tito Jackson, has passed away. We are grieved, surprised, and devastated. The sons of TJ, Taj, and Taryll Jackson wrote a statement on Instagram late on Sunday, describing their father as an amazing man who was concerned about everyone and their well-being.

The Jackson 5, one of the final significant acts to emerge from Berry Gordy's Motown business, comprised teenage and pre-teen brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon and lead singer Michael. Gordy signed them up in the late 1960s, when Motown’s power was slipping and tastes were shifting from the slick pop-soul of Motown’s prime to the funkier sounds of Sly and the Family Stone.
The group's breakout single, "I Want You Back," which peaked at number one on the charts in 1969, was overtly based on Sly and the Family Stone. The Jacksons then went on to have three more No. 1 hits in the charts with "ABC," "The Love You Save," and "I'll Be There." "Mama's Pearl" and "Never Can Say Goodbye" also made it into the top 5.

Their sound was dubbed "bubblegum soul" by some.

The Jackson 5's appeal was waning by the middle of the decade, so all of them—aside from Jermaine—moved to Epic and changed their name to the Jacksons. "Enjoy Yourself," "Lovely One," and "Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground)" were some of their later hits. In the 1980s, Michael Jackson achieved multi-platinum success as a solo performer. Following the release of the album "Victory" in 1984, he rarely collaborated with his brothers.

Jackson 5 was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997, introduced at the ceremony by longtime friend Diana Ross.

"His unquestionable musical talent ensured that their live performances lived up to the high standards set by their adoring record fans." In a statement, Berry Gordy, the creator of Motown, said, "He was humble and yet demanded respect—the same respect he showed to others." "It could be said that Tito was the Jackson 5's unifying factor during their ascent to fame."

The Jackson 5 were raised in Gary, Indiana, and were created under the mentorship of their father, Joe Jackson, who was a steelworker and guitarist. La Toya, his sibling, and Michael would accuse him of being abusive. The group's least noticeable member, guitarist and backing singer Toriano Adaryll "Tito" Jackson, played the guitar.

On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 50. In a December 2009 interview with The Associated Press, Tito Jackson stated that the passing of his younger brother strengthened the bonds among the family.
"I think it definitely made us closer to one another. He said that he would never "be at peace with it," saying "to recognise that the love we have for each other when one of us is not here, what a great loss."

"There are still times when I find it hard to believe." Thus, I believe that will always exist," he remarked.
According to Jackson's statement in 2014, he and his brothers were nonetheless aware of Michael Jackson's absence from their performances, which included foreign tours.
We will never become accustomed to performing without him, in my opinion. Jackson expressed how much his brother was missed and claimed that his spirit "is with us when we are performing." It fills us with a lot of pleasant energy and makes us smile broadly.

A few days prior to his passing, on September 11, Jackson shared a message on his Facebook page from Germany, where he and his brothers had attended a Michael Jackson memorial.

"My brothers Jackie, Marlon, and I went to the lovely tribute for our late brother Michael Jackson before our performance in Munich. We are incredibly appreciative of this unique location that celebrates both our common heritage and his memories. Jackson replied, "I appreciate you keeping his spirit alive."

With his 2016 debut, "Tito Time," Jackson became the last of the nine brothers to release a solo project. In 2017, he dropped the song "One Way Street," and in 2019, he revealed to the AP that he was recording a follow-up album.

Jackson stated that he deliberately refrained from pursuing a solo career in order to prioritise parenting his three boys, who went on to create their own band, 3T. A link to the song "Love One Another," which features 3T and Stevie Wonder, may be found on Jackson's website.

According to Tulsa World, Jackson moved into a home in Claremore, Oklahoma, which is close to Tulsa, earlier this year. Jackson was cited in the newspaper as saying, "I always wanted to get away from the West Coast and experience living somewhere with new people and new culture." The state of California is unique.

Jackson was connected to the area because his uncle, Samuel Jackson, had founded Jackson Undertaking Co. in 1917. The newspaper stated that after the company burned down during the Tulsa Race Massacre in 1921, Samuel Jackson was employed by a funeral home owned by white people to embalm the bodies of Black residents who had died. Later, he reconstructed his own business.

Jackson's mother Katherine, his sisters Janet, Rebbie, and La Toya, and brothers Jermaine, Randy, Marlon, and Jackie also survive him. 2018 saw the passing of their father.

Entertainment Tonight was the first to report on Jackson's passing.
