Transfer: Japan midfielder Kamada joins Crystal Palace

Daichi Kamada, a midfielder from Japan, has joined Crystal Palace from Lazio, the Premier League team in England said on Monday.

The two-year agreement was reached when Kamada's contract with the Serie A team expired, pending international clearance.

In addition, Kamada and Oliver Glasner are reunited. Kamada, 27, was a player for Eintracht Frankfurt under the management of Palace, where he scored 40 goals in 179 games.

Kamada stated on the London club's website, "I'm excited to be joining Crystal Palace and to be working with Oliver — who is a coach I know well — again."

"I'm excited to put myself to the test in the Premier League, and hopefully, the club and I can accomplish all of our goals together."
In addition, Eagles chairman Steve Parish said, "Daichi is an incredibly gifted player. He has emerged as one of Europe's top offensive midfield players in recent years, and his technical proficiency, dedication, and experience make him a valuable addition to an already exceptional team.

Kamada is Palace's second acquisition of the preseason transfer window, after international player Chadi Riad from Morocco arrived at Selhurst Park.
Both players will now be involved in Palace's effort to improve on their 10th-place result in the Premier League's 20 teams from the previous year.
