Transfer: Juventus near Costa deal, Dortmund target Chelsea’s Veiga
According to reports, Juventus is close to completing a deal with Vitória SC for Portuguese right-back Alberto Costa after submitting an official proposal of €15 million.
Sporting CP's €12 million offer is outbid by the offer, and the Italian team is anticipated to finalise the deal in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Fabrizio Romano, a transfer specialist, stated on Monday via X that Juventus and Costa have also reached an agreement on a five-year contract.
As was exclusively disclosed two days ago, Juventus is getting closer to signing Alberto Costa. Vitória received an official bid of €15 million, which was higher than Sporting's €12 million. There is also a five-year agreement in place with the Portuguese RB. "Juve wants it finished in 24 or 48 hours," he said.
In the meantime, Romano says Chelsea are preparing to part ways with Renato Veiga, with the club opting for a permanent sale rather than a loan.
Veiga, who has expressed a desire to play as a center-back rather than a left-back, is valued at €30 million.
According to Romano, Veiga and Borussia Dortmund have achieved a comprehensive agreement on personal terms and a project, making the Bundesliga team his likely destination.
Renato Veiga is anticipated to depart Chelsea since the club has opened the door to a permanent departure rather than a loan. Veiga has requested to play as a CB rather than an LB, and Chelsea is willing to pay him almost €30 million to do so. "There is a complete contract/project agreement between Borussia Dortmund and Veiga," he said.
Kyle Walker-Peters' contract at Southampton is set to expire in six months, and efforts are being made to keep him on board.
Before the January window shuts, the Saints are trying one last time to get his signature. The defender may depart on a free transfer this summer if they are unable to reach an agreement on new terms or set up a transfer.
In other news, Swiss forward Noah Okafor is expected to sign a €1 million loan with RB Leipzig, which will pay his whole wage.
A €25–28 million non-mandatory buy option is part of the agreement. To complete the transfer, Okafor is anticipated to arrive in Leipzig today.
