Usyk’s best boxer of this era, says Apochi

Oleksandr Usyk is the best boxer of this era, according to Nigerian heavyweight prospect Efetobor Apochi, following the Ukrainian's thrilling victory over Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia.

The 36-year-old noted this in a post on his Instagram page on Tuesday as he considered the May 18 heavyweight unification match that was dubbed Ring of Fire at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Federal University of Technology, Owerri graduate in microbiology said, "I've known Usyk since the Baku 2011 Amateur World Championship. He's undefeated for a reason, and he's by far the best boxer of this era." Since turning professional in 2017 with friend and fellow heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba, who had previously won several titles for Nigeria at the amateur level, Usyk has only lost once in 12 fights.

To unify the heavyweight titles of the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring, Usyk defeated Fury via split decision in the rescheduled undisputed heavyweight championship.
