137 freed schoolchildren arrive Kaduna

The 137 pupils who were kidnapped and released from Kuriga, Chikun Local Government Area, Kaduna State, have arrived at Kaduna's Government House.

The release of the pupils was confirmed by the Kaduna State Government on Sunday.

This was stated in a statement that Uba Sani, the state governor, signed.

"I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released," said the statement in part.

The governor did, however, clarify that, according to earlier reports, 137 schoolchildren—not 287—were stolen on March 7, 2024.
