17-year-old Nigerian offered full scholarships to study software engineering
Some of the most prominent colleges in the world, including Stanford, MIT, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, and Columbia, have reportedly offered 17-year-old girl Emmanuela Ilok full scholarships to study software engineering.
Alex Onyia, CEO of Educare and education activist, posted a list of Ilok's accomplishments on his X page on Sunday.
"This is Emmanuela Ilok, a bright 17-year-old who was awarded full scholarships to study Software Engineering at Columbia University, MIT, Stanford, Yale, Penn, and Princeton," Onyia wrote.
He claims that Ilok's academic excellence has already attracted national attention because the British Council recognised her as the nation's top performer in the Nigerian International General Certificate of Secondary Education.
Onyia further mentioned that Ilok created software with an astounding 91% detection accuracy that uses machine learning to identify breast cancer in women.
