Balogun may miss Hearts clash
Leon Balogun, a defender from Nigeria, might miss Saturday's Old Firm match against Celtic.
With a back injury sustained in the Gers' most recent game against Kilmarnock on Sunday, the 35-year-old is still a major worry for the top-of-the-table matchup at Celtic Park versus the Hoops.
The injuries to Balogun follow the absence of Danilo, Oscar Cortes, and Connor Goldson from the Gers for the remainder of the campaign due to injuries.
The availability of Ryan Jack and Ridvan Yilmaz, who are included in the meeting, is another issue.
The Rangers coach, Philippe Clement, acknowledged that Bologun was hurt.
"In the coming days, we'll find out if he's ready to play."
Should Balogun not make a full recovery in time, Ben Davies might play alongside John Souttar in the centre of the Gers' defence in his absence.
Balogun has made 14 Scottish league appearances for Rangers so far this season (18 in all competitions).
Balogun is anticipated to depart Ibrox this summer; his contract expires on May 31. Todd Cantwell, Tom Lawrence, and Fabio are among the others anticipated to depart.
Silva, Rabbi Matondo, and Abdallah Sima.
Rangers, meanwhile, will try to defeat Celtic for the first time this year on Saturday.
In September of last year, Brendan Rodgers' team defeated the opposition 1-0 at Ibrox in their first meeting of the season. Kyogo Furuhashi scored the game's lone goal.
Then, in December, the Hoops won once more at Celtic Park, breaking Philippe Clement's unbeaten streak as Rangers manager and putting them eight points ahead of their rivals, who still had two games remaining.
When the teams reconnected at Ibrox last month, Rabbi Matondo's late goal in a thrilling six-goal thriller kept things close.
With three points as of right now, Celtic is leading the SPL and will be eager to win another game to go six points clear at the top of the log.
